In Unveiled, Karina Matheus constructs a symbolic passage from obscured perception to expanded consciousness through performance and immersive 3D animation. The journey begins in darkness: a veiled figure moves through a cavernous tunnel, guided more by intuition than sight. Vision is restricted, suggesting the limits imposed by inherited belief, memory, and identity.
As the environment shifts—from spiraled earth to luminous sand, from golden fractals to radiant mandalas—the figure undergoes a gradual transformation. Wearing the IgiBarKi artifact and MoiAussi glasses, the unveiling marks a threshold: the emergence of the Priestess, a body attuned to perception beyond the visible.
What follows is an ascent through layered realms—a golden temple, a cosmic sanctuary, and finally a pulsating sphere of interwoven energies.
Matheus renders the universe not as a fixed structure but as a fluid multiplicity of realities. The work culminates in an abstract multiverse where boundaries dissolve, and perception becomes expansive, relational, and infinite. Unveiled proposes vision as a spiritual act—one that requires surrender, transformation, and the courage to see beyond the singular world.
Pedro Guevara composes a score inspired by Sumerian culture, weaving ancient tonalities into a ritual soundscape of transformation and transcendence.

This piece delves into the elusive significance of the sun for the artist, serving as a profound exploration of her intimate spiritual journey through art and the intricate process of assimilating into a new country and society. In a distinctive fusion of cultural elements, the artist initiates a tangible conversation with the British sun by employing the Andean ritual of Munay Ki.
Munay, originating from the Quechua language of the Inca culture in Peru, translates to "universal love," while Ki, derived from Japanese, signifies energy. Together, they encapsulate the concept of "energy of love." Within the framework of this artistic creation, the artist enacts the nine rites of Munay Ki, symbolically portraying the emergence of a renewed self in response to the myriad changes she has undergone as an individual.

This piece is part of the collection titled "The Search", which serves as an artist's journal, a fervent reverie woven around the sun, seamlessly fusing photography, video art, holographic installation, and paintings. We, along with our planet, are inherently reliant on the sun for sustenance; however, prolonged exposure to excessive UV rays poses a threat to our existence. Our journey is marked by a perpetual contradiction — a delicate balance between life and death, happiness and sadness, light and darkness. Struggling to find equilibrium, we often find ourselves immersed in an eternal dilemma of extremes, unsure of how to navigate the middle ground.
