ETHER SERIES STATEMENT

"The encounter between a subject and an experience determines how special or not a space will remain in that person's life memory. A place is not mystical because of the reference of others or because of tourist packages that turn them into sacred roads. Shasta's dormant volcanoes and mountains hold a pristine scent before my eyes, discovering unique deep reds, purples, and blues. From there the Ether series of watercolors was born, made with subtle strokes that remind me of the moments of immensity that that natural landscape transmitted to me."
