BIOGRAPHY
Karina Matheus is a Venezuelan-American artist and writer. Her work has been featured in curated exhibitions in the context of the 57th, 58th, 59th, and 60th Venice Biennale in Italy, as well as inclusion in the prestigious Luciano Benetton Collection. Matheus' paintings have graced the halls of Museo de Cartago in Costa Rica, and International Art Fairs like Scope NYC, AAF London, AAF NYC, Parallax AF London, Pinta Miami, Art Boca Raton, Art Concept Miami Art Week, Art Palm Beach International, among others. She has also exhibited in museums, galleries and curated spaces in prominent art hubs such as London, Bristol, Windsor, New York, Madrid, Panama, Costa Rica, Caracas, Miami, and Wynwood, the renowned Art District in South Florida.
Her artistic journey began with formal education at the Cristobal Rojas School of Arts and the School of Arts at the Central University of Venezuela. She has a background in music, photography, literature, and dance, all of which have contributed significantly to her artistic vision.
Matheus furthered her academic pursuits, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with specializations in Film and Video Production from Andres Bello Catholic University and Postgrad in Integrated Marketing Communications from Metropolitan University, both in her hometown.
Her artworks have found homes in Private Collections in United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, South and Central America.
Beyond visual art, Matheus is a writer, with her stories published in compilations by Spanish editorial houses in the United States and digital literary magazines. She honed her writing by completing a Master's degree in Creative Writing with the Escuela de Escritores de Madrid in Spain.
Today, Karina Matheus divides her time between London, Miami, and New York, where she continues to create and inspire in the world of art and literature.
